3. Do not reverse the polarity of the wire connections connected to the battery.
CABLE ROUTING
• Route the cables for the outboard on the opposite side of the boat from other boat cables.
• Delicate electronics, such as a depth gauge, should not be connected directly to the main battery. Different battery
systems require separate connection cables.
CONNECTION OF A 12V BATTERY
• Install an optional 60 amp manual circuit breaker (preferably) in line with the positive (+) power cable of the
outboard and the positive (+) battery terminal. Connect (+) to (+) the battery with an optional extra battery.
Connect the black negative (-) engine power cable to the negative (-) terminal of the engine battery. Connect (-)
to (-) battery with extra battery optional.
