Basic terms in electrical pain therapy
Pulse frequency
Number of pulses per second,
measured in Hertz (Hz).
Tens works between 1 and 200 Hz.
Pulse width
The duration of an individual pulse,
measured in microseconds. 1μsec.
corresponds to 1/1.000.000 second.
Current intensity
Measured in milliamperes 1mA = 1/1000 A.
Tens units work with a maximum of 50 mA.
Modulation
Pulse intensity, pulse frequency and pulse duration
are simultaneously varied.
