OPERATION
Ask the Programmer what effects he has programmed onto which pads, of which Keyboards and refer to his
program record book - supplied with each Masterpiece which he will have completed for you! Try out the various
pre-programmed effects and shows until you are familiar with them and know when it would be appropriate to use
them.
OTHER INFORMATION
DO’S
1. Protect the Masterpiece with the lid of its case when not in use.
2. Ensure the voltage selector (on the back panel) is correctly set before switching on.
3. Keep the Masterpiece clean - a little wax polish on a soft cloth works well (polish to cloth - not to panel).
4. Release a slider straight away if it was inadvertently engaged to the wrong Output Page or Keyboard.
5. Do write the details of Output Channels, Scenes, Scene Chases, Environments, Environment Chases etc. on
the Program Record Sheets provided.
DON’T’S
1. Move a slider without checking which Output Page, Keyboard or Chase it is patched to.
SOFTWARE UPGRADES
Although already capable of producing a stunning lightshow, there are many features still to be added to the
software - these are indicated by a * in the text. Software upgrade EPROMs will be free to purchasers of early
units. Please complete the customer registration form supplied so that we can keep you informed. The software
version in your Masterpiece is displayed in the 4 Digit Display at switch on - e.g. "No.1.0".
INPUT/OUTPUT PROTECTION
To ensure the Masterpiece doesn’t let you down when the Gremlins attack your wiring, the RS232, DMX512 and
MIDI inputs and outputs are all protected against the accidental application of mains voltage.
BATTERY BACKUP - An internal battery, which is automatically recharged during use, maintains the
Masterpiece’s memory at switch off. A fully charged battery lasts about 6 months. Ten hours use per month will
keep the battery charged, 60 hours are needed to fully charge a flat battery.
At switch on, the complete status of the Masterpiece will be the same as at switch off, except that the software
version no. appears in the display and all chases are reset to step 1 * - as required for environmental control.
DIMENSIONS - Front panel - 482.6mm x 354.8mm (19" x 14" = 8 Units)
Depth - 150mm (6") including plugs and sockets
Weight - 5.6Kgs (12 lbs.)
Shipping dimensions - 530mm x 440mm x 230mm
SPILLAGE OF DRINKS - If a drink is spilt on your Masterpiece, immediately disconnect it, undo the 6, M3 screws
that hold the front panel onto the tray then plunge the front panel only into clean water and rinse thoroughly.
Shake and wipe dry, then leave in a warm place to dry right out. If drink has reached the tray section it must be
washed but take care to keep the mains voltage parts dry.
GUARANTEE - 12 months from the date of original purchase. The guarantee is limited to parts and labour. The
guarantee is void if the unit is misused or if repairs are performed by unauthorised persons. In the unlikely event
of a fault occurring, return the unit to your supplier giving a description of the fault or direct to Pulsar for immediate
attention.
