      Christian MeyerAug 10, 2025
To address failed hot-swapping of drives: 1. Log in to QTS. 2. Navigate to 'Main Menu > Storage & Snapshots > Storage > Disks/VJBOD' and locate the failed drive. 3. Prepare a new hard drive with equal or greater capacity than the failed one. 4. Remove the failed drive from the device. 5. Wait for 20 seconds or until you hear two beeps. 6. Take out the failed drive from its tray and put the new drive in. 7. Install the new drive; the NAS should beep twice. 8. Go to 'Main Menu > Storage & Snapshots > Storage Space', find the volume containing the new drive, and check that the status is 'Rebuilding'.

You can use exclusive RAID recovery technology to recover failed RAID disk volumes resulting from unintentional disconnection or removal of drives. This allows users to recover an inactive RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6, RAID 10, RAID 50, or RAID 60 volume from degraded mode.
