REAR–FACING
3. IMPORTANT! Lock your
retractor. Slowly pull the
shoulder belt all the way out
of the retractor. You will hear
a clicking sound as the belt
retracts. This is how you know
the retrator is locked. For more
information on locking your
retractor, please review your
vehicle owner's manual.
Press down rmly in the center
of the car seat. To tighten, pull
from the lap/shoulder belt on
the side nearest to the buckle
while feeding the slack back into
the retractor.
4. Test for tightness. Grab the seat
at the rear-facing belt path. Try
to move the car seat side-to-side
and front-to-back with the force
of a rm handshake. If the seat
moves less than 1 in (2.5 cm), it
is tight enough. DO NOT test by
grasping the top or back of the
car seat.
