counterclockwise
until
you
hear
a
hiss-
ing
sound.
Then,
slowly
rotate
SQUELCH
clockwise
until
the
noise
stops.
Leave
VOLUME
set
to
a
comfortable
level.
If
the
transceiver
picks
upunwanted
weak
transmissions,
rotate
SQUELCH
clock-
wise
to
decrease
the
transceiver’s
sensitivity
to
signals.

You
can
use
any
of
three
methods
to
select
a
frequency
to
communicate
on.
