If required, a cold trap or cold finger can be inserted between the collection flask and vacuum pump.
A cold finger will require immersion
into a dewar with a suitable coolant.
A cold trap will need filling with a
coolant, such as dry ice and acetone.

❖ Addition of a cold trap or cold finger will significantly improve the performance of your pump and
