      If your Rain Bird Control Unit valve won't open or slams on and off, start by ensuring your water source is active, the controller has power, and the flow control is open. If issues persist, turn off the water supply, remove the bonnet screws, and inspect the valve body for any obstructions. If the diaphragm filter is missing, replace the diaphragm using kit number 210746-03. You can also try replacing the solenoid with one that is known to be working. If the valve remains unresponsive, consider replacing the solenoid entirely. Finally, check your system's water pressure; if it exceeds 80 psi (5,5 bar), install a pressure regulator before the valve to lower the water pressure.

      To address a Rain Bird Control Unit valve that won’t completely shut off, causing sprinklers to “weep,” begin by fully tightening the solenoid (a quarter turn beyond hand tight) to ensure a complete valve closure. Also, tighten both the bleed screw and bonnet screws. Use the external bleed screw to flush the valve. If the issue continues, turn off the water supply, unscrew the bonnet screws, and remove the bonnet to access the diaphragm. Clean the diaphragm with clear water, then reinstall it along with the bonnet. If necessary, replace the diaphragm using kit number 210746-03.

      If your Rain Bird Control Unit valve won't open, begin by verifying the water source, controller power, and flow control are all active and open. Then, turn off the water supply and unscrew the bonnet screws to remove the bonnet, inspecting the valve body for any debris. If the diaphragm filter is missing, replace the diaphragm. Next, turn off the water again, remove the solenoid, and carefully insert a small, stiff wire into the hole at the center of the solenoid bowl, pushing it into the valve outlet, being careful not to damage the top lip of the hole. Remove the wire and replace the solenoid. If the valve remains closed, replace the original solenoid. Finally, manually open the valve using the External Manual Bleed Screw to release any trapped air above the diaphragm, then close it usi...
