ASSEMBLY OF CUTTING
UNITS TO MACHINE
FITTING CUTTING UNIT TO LIFT ARM
All units:
a. Slide the cutting unit complete with either
pivot mounting or yoke assembly onto pivot
arm shaft.
b. release the locknut on the adjusting screw
(A Fig.8) to allow the cutting unit to slide fully
onto the pivot shaft.
c. Fit Vee belt over pulley on the jackshaft and the
cutting cylinder pulley.
d. Turn adjusting screw clockwise to increase
the belt tension and anticlockwise to decrease
the belt tension.
The tension is correct when the belt can be
depressed 8mm (5/16in) with a load of 1.3 -2kg
(3 - 4 1/2lbs) midway between the
cylinder pulley and the jackshaft pulley.
e. Re-tighten the locknut after adjusting.
FITTING GRASS CATCHERS
All grass catchers are fitted with hooks that locate on
mounting pins fitted to the cutting unit frame.
a. Remove the front cutting units by releasing the
belt tension. Remove the belt and slide the
cutting unit of the pivot shaft.
IMPORTANT: disconnect the unit support springs
before removing the cutting unit.
b. Lossen the height of cut adjustment bolts and
rotate the skid plate to its highest height of cut
position (down) and retighten bolts.
c. Insert concave assembly into the cutting unit
from the rear and secure at rear with three nuts
and washers. Secure at the front of the unit
with three screws and locknuts. Nut to be on
top.
d. Return skid plate to correct postion and
tighten height of cut adjustment bolts
e. Re-fit cutting units to the machine.
f. Install all lower support brackets onto boxes.
