TheInterceptpointisdisplayedwhenperforming
anindividualInterception.Itcanbeusedtohelp
rendez-vouswithfriendsorforPilotboatsand
theCoastguardtointerceptvesselsthataretobe
boarded.TheInterceptpointisdisplayedwithinthe
Interceptionzone.
Whenperforminganindividualinterceptionyouare
placingyourvesselonacollisioncoursewiththe
targetvessel.ItWILLbenecessarytochangetoa
parallelcoursetopreventacollision.
Pre-requisites:
•YoumustbefamiliarwiththeIRPCS.
•YoumustbefamiliarwiththeAISfeature.
•Youmusthaveathoroughunderstandingofthe
Targetinterceptionfeature.

Pre-requisites:
•TheAISOverlaymustbeenabled
1.SelecttheAIStargetyouwanttoIntercept.
2.FromthecontextmenuselectShow
InterceptionssothatOnisselected.
Targetinterceptiongraphicswillnowbedisplayed
fortheselectedtarget.
IfnoInterceptpointisdisplayedthenyour
vesselisnottravellingfastenoughtocatchthe
targetvessel.Youwillneedtoaccelerate,or
alternativelycallthetargetvesselandrequest
themtoslowdown.
3.BeginnavigationtotheInterceptpoint.
RememberWhenthetargetmovestheIntercept
pointwillmoveaccordingly.Itwillbenecessaryto
changecoursesothatyourCOGlinesintersect
attheInterceptpoint.
4.Adjustcourseandspeedasnecessaryto
interceptthetarget.
5.Ensureyoualteryourcoursetoaparallelcourse
beforereachingtheInterceptpoint.
