transducer
Thisproductissuppliedwithatransommounttransducer.The
guidelinesbelowshouldbefollowedwhenselectingalocation
forthetransducer.
Note:Thetransducerisnotsuitableformountingonvessels
wherethetransomisaftofthepropeller(s).
Forbestperformancethetransducermustbeinstalledina
locationwiththeleastturbulenceandaeration.Themost
effectivewaytodeterminethisisbycheckingthewaterow
aroundthetransomwhilstunderway.
•Thetransducershouldbemountedclosetothekeel
(centreline)ofthevessel,sothatthetransducerremainsfully
submergedwhenthevesselisturning.
•Thetransducermustbemountedasuitabledistancefrom
thepropeller(s)toavoidwake.
•Forclockwiserotatingpropellersthetransducershouldbe
mountedonthestarboardside,foranti-clockwiserotating
propellersthetransducershouldbemountedontheportside.
•Onatwinenginevesselthetransducershouldbemounted
betweentheengines.
•Turbulencecanalsobecausedbyanumberofotherfactors
suchassteps,ribs,strakes,androwsofrivets.Theturbulence
appearsaftoftheselocations.

•Airtrappedunderthefrontofthevesselcantravelunderthe
hullandappearasaerationaft.
•Ifinstallingonthestepofasteppedtransom,allowsufcient
roomabovethetransducerfortransducerkick-up.
Note:Optimumtransducerlocationwillvarydepending
onvesseltype.Optimumtransducerheightandangle
shouldbeobtainedbytestingthetransducerwiththe
vesselinthewaterbeforelockingthetransducer’s
position.
