Settingscanbeadjustedusingtheapplicationmenutoenhance
theimagethatisdisplayedon-screen.

Sensitivity
TheSensitivitysettingaltersthewaybackgroundnoise(also
calledclutter)isprocessed.Adjustingthesettingcanimprove
theimage,howeverforoptimumperformanceinmostconditions,
itisrecommendedthatyouusetheautosetting.
TheSensitivitysettingadjuststhereturnthreshold(echo
strength)atwhichanobjectwillbedisplayedon-screen.
TheSensitivitysettingcanbesettoautomaticoradjusted
manually:
•Automatic—InAutomode,thesettingisautomatically
adjustedtosuitcurrentconditions.Anyadjustmentsmade
applytoallviewsusingthatapplication.
•Manual—Ifnecessaryyoucansetthesensitivitysetting
manually,betweenavalueof0%to100%.Thehigherthe
settingthemoredetailwillappearon-screen.Thisvalue
shouldbesethighenoughtoseeshandbottomdetail
butwithouttoomuchbackgroundnoise.Generallyahigher
settingisusedindeepand/orclearwater;alowsettingin
shallowand/ormurkywater.
Thenewvaluesremainsetevenwhenyouswitchoffthedisplay
andareappliedtoallviews.
Adjustingsensitivity
Fromtheapplicationmenu:
1.SelectAdjustSonarorAdjustDownVision.
2.SelectSensitivity.
3.UsetheRotarycontroltoadjustthesensitivitytothe
requiredvalue,or
4.PresstheOKbuttontoswitchtoAutomode.
AtickisdisplayedintheAutoboxtosignifyautoisenabled.
Contrast
YoucanadjusttheContrasttochangethesignalstrength
thresholdforthestrongestcolor/shading.
Contrastsetsthelowerlimitforthestrongestechocolor/shade.
Allechoeswithasignalstrengthabovethisvaluearedisplayed
inthestrongestcolor/shade.Thosewithaweakervalueare
dividedequallybetweentheremainingcolors/shades.
•Settingalowvalueproducesawidebandfortheweakestcolor
/shade,butasmallsignalbandfortheothercolors/shades.
•Settingahighvaluegivesawidebandforthestrongestcolor/
shade,butasmallsignalbandfortheothercolors/shades.
TheContrastsettingcanbesettoautomaticoradjusted
manually:
•Automatic—InAutomodethecontrastsettingis
automaticallyadjustedtosuitcurrentconditions.Any
adjustmentsmadeapplytoallviews.

NoiseFilter
TheNoiseFilterreducestheamountofclutterdisplayed
on-screenbyvaryingthegainthroughoutthecolumnofwater.
Thisfunctionisusefulforreducingtheappearanceof‘noise’.
TheNoiseFiltercanbesettoautomaticoradjustedmanually:
•Automatic—InAutomodetheNoiseFiltersettingissetto
20%.
•Manual—YoucansettheNoiseFiltermanually,betweena
valueof0%to100%.
–Alowvaluedecreasesthedepthatwhichthelteris
applied.
–Ahighvalueincreasethedepthatwhichthelterisapplied.
Thenewvaluesremainsetevenwhenyouswitchoffthedisplay,
theyareappliedtobothallviews.
