CHILD SAFETY (continued)
Activating the front
passenger air bags
You should reactivate the air bag as
soon as you remove the child seat from
the front passenger seat to ensure the
protection of the front passenger in the
event of an impact.
To reactivate the restraint devices
supplementary to the front passen-
ger seat belt: switch off the ignition,
press and turn lock 1 to position ON.
The passenger air bag must
be activated or deactivated
with the ignition off.
If any operation is carried
out with the ignition on, the
å
and ú warning lights come on:
the passenger air bag is deacti-
vated.
Switch the ignition off then on again
to reset the air bag in accordance
with the lock position.
With the ignition on, check that the
warning light
2, AIRBAG OFF, goes
out.
The front passenger seat belt additional
restraint systems are activated.
Operating faults
A child seat MUST NOT be fitted to the
front seat if the front passenger air bag
activation/deactivation system is faulty.
Allowing any other passenger to sit in
that seat is not recommended.
