What does it mean if my Riello UPS display shows the code A13?
    • R
      reginahughesSep 12, 2025
If the display shows the code A13, it indicates that the protection device upstream from the bypass line is open (only if bypass is separate) or the bypass isolator is open. Restore the protection device upstream, checking that there is no overload or short circuit at the output of the UPS. Otherwise, close the isolator (SWBYP only if bypass is separate).

How to fix Riello UPS that doesn't switch to standby mode?
    • K
      Kristine KellyAug 25, 2025
If the Riello UPS connected to the mains does not switch to stand-by mode, it could be due to a missing connection to the input terminal. Connect the mains to the terminals following the indications in the paragraph on Installation. It could also be that the 1/0 switch is set to 0, so set the switch to 1. Another possibility is that the isolator (SWIN) is open, so close the isolator. If mains power is missing (blackout), make sure the mains power is present and if necessary, perform battery start-up to power the load. Finally, it could be the intervention of the upstream protection device, so restore the protection, but first make sure there is no overload or short circuit on the UPS output.

What to do if no power reaches the load from Riello UPS?
    • F
      fordnathanAug 26, 2025
If no power reaches the load from your Riello UPS, first check the connection to the output terminal and connect the load to the terminals. If the UPS is in stand-by mode, run the start-up sequence. If the STAND-BY OFF mode has been selected, change the operating mode, since the STAND-BY OFF (emergency) mode only powers the loads when a black out occurs. If there is a malfunction of the UPS and automatic bypass is out of use, insert the maintenance bypass (SWMB) and contact the nearest service centre.

Dr. Brenda Page PhDSep 12, 2025
If the display shows the code A39, the batteries have failed the periodic efficiency test. It is recommended to replace the batteries of the UPS, since they are no longer able to maintain the charge for a sufficient autonomy. The replacement of the batteries must be carried out by qualified personnel.

What does it mean if my Riello UPS display shows one or more of the following codes: A22, F23, L23?

      Patricia FosterSep 18, 2025
If the display shows codes A22, F23, or L23, the load applied to the UPS is too high. Reduce the load to below the 100% threshold (or user threshold for the code A22).

If the display of your Riello UPS shows the following code L11, it indicates a static bypass rupture or fault. Activate the maintenance bypass (SWMB) if present. Turn the UPS off and back on again. Exclude the maintenance bypass and if the problem persists, contact the nearest service centre.

What to do if no power reaches the load connected to my Riello UPS?
    • C
      Carrie Oliver MDSep 6, 2025
If no power reaches the load, check the connections to the output terminal and ensure they are properly connected. If the UPS is in stand-by mode, run the start-up sequence. If the STAND-BY OFF mode has been selected, change the operating mode, as this mode only powers the loads during a blackout. If the UPS has malfunctioned and the automatic bypass is out of use, insert the maintenance bypass (SWMB) and contact the nearest service center.
