Disconnecting from the Thunderbolt V Module
Use the following procedure to disconnect the scan tool from all underbolt V
modules.
1) Turn the engine’s ignition switch to the OFF position.
2) Remove the RED power lead from the +12v power connection.
3) Remove the BLACK ground lead from the engine’s ground connection.
4) For 2nd Generation modules, remove the YELLOW and VIOLET
“mini-grabber” test clips from the underbolt V’s communication terminals.
For 3rd generation modules unplug the 4 pin scan tool adapter from the
module’s data connector.
5) Replace the removed silicone rubber waterproong on the 2nd generation
module’s communication terminals. Use General Electric RTV silicone rub-
ber or equivalent.
6) On 3rd generation modules, replace the four pin engine harness connector.
