Usage Features:
The bookcase is designed for straightforward adult assembly. The instructions are broken down into seven steps, guiding the user through the process of connecting the various panels and hardware components.
- Step 1: Involves screwing cam bolts (B) into the left side panel (2) and right side panel (3).
- Step 2: Focuses on attaching the adjustable anchor bracket (F) with a screw (J) to the top board (1), screwing cam bolts (B) into the top board (1), inserting wood dowels (A) into the bottom board (4), and attaching the bottom trim (7) to the bottom board (4) using dowels.
- Step 3: Details inserting a wood dowel (A) into the right side panel (3), attaching the shelf (5) to the right side panel (3) using cam bolts and cam locks (C), and attaching the bottom board (4) to the right side panel (3) using cam bolts, wood dowels, and cam locks (C).
- Step 4: Involves inserting a wood dowel (A) into the left side panel (2), attaching the left side panel (2) to the pre-assembled bookcase using cam bolts (B) into the shelf (5) and bottom board (4), and inserting wood dowels into the bottom trim (7). Cam locks (C) are then inserted and rotated to secure the shelf and bottom board.
- Step 5: Instructs placing the pre-assembled bookcase upright, inserting wood dowels (A) into the top of the left side panel (2) and right side panel (3), attaching the top board (1) to the bookcase using cam bolts (B) and wood dowels (A), and securing with cam locks (C) on both side panels.
- Step 6: Involves attaching the back panels (6 and 8) to the back of the bookcase using 26 screws (D).
- Step 7 (Securing to Wall): This is a critical safety step. Two options are provided for securing the cabinet to the wall:
- Option #1: Securing to Drywall: Position the cabinet, mark the wall through the bracket hole, move the cabinet, screw a plastic anchor (G) into the wall, then reposition the cabinet and insert a screw (H) through the bracket (F) into the plastic anchor (G).
- Option #2: Securing to Drywall and Wood Stud: Position the cabinet, insert a screw (H) through the bracket (F) and tighten it through the drywall and into a wood stud.
- The anchor bracket (F) is adjustable to achieve the correct distance from the wall to the cabinet and should be re-tightened inside the cabinet for stability after adjustment.
Maintenance Features:
- Regular Checks: Adults should periodically check the cabinet for damage or loose screws/parts. Any necessary action should be taken to correct hazards, such as tightening screws or removing damaged parts from children.
- Cleaning: The product can be cleaned by wiping it with a water-dampened cloth, followed by wiping dry with a clean cloth.
