Install balancer shaft aligning the timing mark on
the balancer shaft gear
and
the balancer gear
on
the crank shaft as shown
in
Fig.
5-34.
Incorrect timing
of
the gears will cause
malfunction of the engine and may
result
in
damage due to interference of the
parts.

TAPPET AND CAMSHAFT
(1)
Oil the tappets and install them
in
their original
position.

Push
in
fully
to avoid damage during the installation
of
the camshaft.
(2)
Lubricate the bearing surfaces of camshaft.
Align the timing mark
on
the crankshaft gear
with
the timing
mark
on
the
camshaft and install the
camshaft
in
the crankcase. (See Fig.
5-36.)
Incorrect valve timing
will
cause engine's
malfunction.

ADJUST CRANKSHAFT AND CAMSHAFT END PLAY
(1)
Adjust end play to the specified values using the proper spacer.
The proper spacer may be determined following manner.
