FA ROTEX GW - 09/2012
10 x Faults and malfunctions
No ignition Ignition electrodes dirty, faulty or incorrectly set
Ɣ Clean the ignition electrodes.
Ɣ Adjust the ignition electrodes.
Ɣ Replace burnt or non-adjustable ignition electrodes.
Ɣ Replace ignition electrodes with a defective insulator.
Ignition cable burnt
Ɣ 1. Determine and repair the cause for the burnt cable.
Ɣ 2. Replace the ignition cable.
Ignition transformer defective
Ɣ Change ignition transformer.
Burner not starting
despite burner
demand
No mains voltage on burner fan
Ɣ Connect the 3-pin connector securely to the blower.
Ɣ Check the voltage at the terminals of the connectors.
Ɣ Check the plug X11 on the controller and plug in
correctly.
No communication to the burner blower
Ɣ Connect the 5 pin connector securely to the blower.
Ɣ Check the plug X6 on the controller and plug in
correctly.
Fan motor faulty
Ɣ Replace the burner blower.
No power to the gas valve or ignition transformer
Ɣ Check the plug X12 on the controller and plug in
correctly.
Ɣ Replace the cables.
Flame monitoring switches off
Ɣ Adjust the ionisation electrode.
Ɣ Clean up oxidized electrode areas on the ionisation
electrode with fine sanding paper).
Ɣ Replace worn ionisation electrodes.
No gas pressure
Ɣ Inspect the gas connections.
Air in the gas line
Ɣ Vent the gas line.
Gas valve not opening
Ɣ Inspect the plug connection between the gas valve and
the controller, connect correctly.
Ɣ Re-align the connecting pins of the plug connection.
Ɣ Check gas valve (vacuum at outlet pressure measuring
socket during pre-ventilation, zero pressure during the
ignition)
Ɣ Replace the gas valve.
Ɣ Replace controller.
No ignition
Ɣ See "No ignition" failure
Loud operating noises Wrong burner setting
Ɣ Re-adjust the burner setting.
Bearing damage on burner fan
Ɣ Reduce the max. output.
Ɣ Replace the burner blower.
Maximum burner
output too low
Incorrect setting parameters
Ɣ Adjust the output parameter.
Air/flue gas resistance too high
Ɣ Check the lines for contaminations.
Ɣ If necessary, install lines with a larger line cross-
section for supply air or flue gas.
STB has triggered Flow temperature was >93 °C (no heat dissi-
pation).
Possible causes of fault:
Ɣ Establish the cause of the fault and rectify, allow the
unit to cool down and cancel the interlock by pushing
the button >2 s on the controller.
– No power to heating circulation pump Ɣ
Check the plug on the heating circulation pump and
plug X11 on the controller and plug in correctly.
– Heating circulation pump defective Ɣ Replace heating circulation pump.
– No voltage to 3-way diverter valve Ɣ Check the plug on the drive motor on the 3-way diverter
valve and the plug X10 on the controller and insert
correctly.
– 3-way diverter valve drive motor defec-
tive
Ɣ Replace the drive motor on the 3-way diverter valve.
