TROUBLESHOOTING
HYDRAULIC HAND PUMP
Problem Possible Cause Solution
Crimper does not close or
closes slowly.
1. System components leaking Check all connection are fully tightened.
2. Lower fluid level in Reservoir Add oil.
3. Air tapped into system Refer to Air Bleeding section on page 9 -10 .
4. Too much fluid in Reservoir Remove excess oil.
5. Release valve not fully closed Close the release valve completely by hand.
Crimper closes, but not
holding pressure.
1. System components leaking Check all connection are fully tightened.
2. Fluid leading past inlet or outlet checks Contact RYCO Hydraulics for service.
3. Seals worn or leaking Contact RYCO Hydraulics for service.
Pump handle has a
"spongy" feel
1. Air trapped in system Refer to Air Bleeding section on page 9-10.
A system failure may or may not be the result of a pump malfunction. Determining the cause of the problem is the key objective.
