38 Seats, restraints
seat and the pedals so that legs are
slightly angled when pressing the
pedals.
Slide the front passenger seat as
far back as possible while maintain‐
ing correct position for the safety
belt 3 43.
Sit with shoulders as far back
against the backrest as possible.
Set the backrest rake so that it is
possible to easily reach the steer‐
ing wheel with arms slightly bent.
Maintain contact between should‐
ers and the backrest when turning
the steering wheel. The backrest
should be adjusted to allow an up‐
right driving position.
Adjust the steering wheel 3 91.
Adjust the backrest to an upright
position, so that the safety belt, air‐
bag and backrest can provide opti‐
mum protection in the event of
emergency braking or a crash.
Set seat height high enough to
have a clear field of vision on all
sides and of all display instruments.
Your thighs should rest lightly on
the seat without pressing into it.
Adjust the head restraint 3 36.
Adjust the height of the safety belt
3 46.
Adjust the thigh support so that
there is a space approx. two fingers
wide between the edge of the seat
and the hollow of the knee.
Adjust the lumbar support so that it
supports the natural shape of the
spine.
Power Seat Adjustment
9 Warning
Care must be taken when operat‐
ing the power seats. The seats are
actuated by powerful motors.
There is a risk of injury, particularly
for children. Articles could become
trapped.
Never leave the remote control in
the vehicle when leaving the vehi‐
cle! Risk of injury to unsupervised
persons in event of power seat ad‐
justment.
Bear in mind that children could be
injured if they play with the power
seats.
Keep a close watch on the seats
when adjusting them. Vehicle pas‐
sengers should be informed ac‐
cordingly.
