Head Restraint Removal and
Reinstallation
The rear outboard head restraints can
be removed if they interfere with the
proper installation of the child re‐
straint.
To remove the head restraint:
1. Partially fold the seatback for‐
ward. Rear Seats 3 85 for addi‐
tional information.
2. To remove rear head restraint
press the catch on the right sleeve
and press the release on the left
sleeve with a steeple object. Pull
the headrest upwards.
3. Store the head restraint in the
trunk of the vehicle.
4. When the child restraint is re‐
moved, reinstall the head restraint
before the seating position is
used.
9 Warning
There is a greater chance that oc‐
cupants will suffer a neck/spinal
injury in a collision if the head re‐
straints are not properly installed
and adjusted. Do not drive until the
head restraints for all occupants
are installed and adjusted prop‐
erly.
To reinstall the head restraint:
1. Insert the head restraint posts into
the holes in the top of the seat‐
back. The notches (A) on the
posts must face the driver side of
the vehicle.
2. Push the head restraint all the way
down.
3. Pull up on the head restraint to be
sure that it locks.
