ASSEMBLING THE ENGINE
Crankcase and crankshaft

Before assembling, fill the groo v-
es
of the shaft sea ls with greas e
(
Aivania 3).
Note:
When assembling crankcase ha l-
ves, have a look at the table on
crankshaft bearings on pag e 15.
On e ng i nes equipped wi th
grooved ball bearing on the
magneto side, heat th e i nne r
race of the grooved ball bea r ing
and insert c rankshaft into the
crankcase half .
Insert both dowel tubes a nd
place gasket in position.
Fit the p. t. o. crankcase half
(h eat up inne r ring on engines
equipped with grooved ball
bea ri ng) and s cre w the two hal-
ves together by means of 4 he x a-
gon socket head screws M 8 x 35
and 2 hexagon socket he ad
screws M 8 x 60 (on SACHS SA
340 C, 2 hexagon socket head
screws M 8 x 65) and spring wa -
shers .
Tightening torque 2.2 ... 2.4 kpm
(1 5.9 ... 17.4 ft. lb.).

hexagon head screws M 1 0 x 40.
Screw in screwed nipple (1) an d
oil
drain cock (2) with seal.
