Connect leads to terminal block
(5) as shown in the i llustra tion.
Connect earth wire (brown) from
angle support of Bowden cabl e
to terminal 1.
Connect short-circuiting lead
(black) from dynamo magneto to
terminal 2 and to short -circui ting
button (2).
Connect lighting lead (yellow) to
terminals 3 and 4.

On engines without terminal
block, pass short-circuiting l ead
through rubber grommet ( u) and
h ole in fan h ousing and screw
the fan housing tightly i nto
place .
Make s ur e that s hort -circuiting
lead is correctly fitted. If the l ead
is too long, there is a risk that it
will
rub against the fan or touch
the cylind er .
Fit
short-circuiting lead to insu-
lator . Insert short-circuiting bu t-
ton and place rubber cap in po-
sition.

Secure cover (1, Fig. 59), ignition lead with rubber sleeve (1, Fig. 5) and fixing clip
(3, Fig. 59) and earth lead (brown, in case of right-ha nd carburettor) with 3 fillister
head screws M 6 x 10 and spring wa shers .
Fan, starter hub, recoil starter
Plac e fan with gasket in position and se cur e it with 4 nuts M 6 and spring washer s.
Torqu e 0.5 ... 0.6 kpm (3.6 .. .4.3 ft. lb. ).
Place the cover plate (3, Fig. 2) in position.
Insert two be aring rollers 4 dia. x 8 mm into magneto flywhee l.
Note:
On engines with Fairbanks re coil st art er fit bearing roller 4 dia. x 8 mm (0 .032 in.) and
c ylindric al pin 4 d ia. x 11 .5 mm (0.4527 in.). For recoil starter with friction ja ws insert
two beari ng rollers 4 dia. x 8 mm.
Fit starter h ub (1, Fig. 2), insert washer a nd retaining plate.
Plac e r etai ning lever (2, Fig. 2) in posi ti on and secure starter hub with hexagon nut
(with
collar) M 14 x 1.5.

orq ue 9.0 ... 9.5 kpm (65.1 ... 68.7 ft. lb.).
