Shipment and on-site transport
Make sure that the additional sling be-
tween the yoke and rigging equipment
(hook, shackle etc.) does not bear any
load when lifting valves. The sling only
protects the control valve from tilting
while being lifted. Before lifting the con-
trol valve, tighten the sling.
Lifting the control valve
1. Attach one sling to each ange of the
body and to the rigging equipment (e.g.
hook) of the crane or forklift (see
Fig.4-1).
2. If necessary, attach another sling to the
valve yoke and to the rigging equipment.
Make sure that the actuator stem is not
damaged.
3. Carefully lift the control valve. Check
whether the lifting equipment and acces-
sories can bear the weight.
4. Move the control valve at an even pace
to the site of installation.
5. Install the valve into the pipeline (see the
'Installation' section).
6. After installation in the pipeline, check
whether the anges are bolted tight and
the valve in the pipeline holds.
7. Remove slings.
