5.3.2 Installing the valve into
the pipeline
Risk of valve damage due to work being
carried out by personnel not qualied for
such tasks.
The plant operator or specialist company
performing the welding is responsible for the
selection of the welding procedure and the
actual welding operations on the valve. This
also applies to any required heat treatment
to be performed on the valve.
Î Only allow qualied welding personnel
to carry out welding operations.
Premature wear and leakage due to insuf-
cient support or suspension.
Î Support or suspend the valve sufciently
at suitable points.
To meet 3-A conformity requirements, a gas-
ket recommended by 3-ASanitary Stan-
dards Inc. (see website
uhttp://www.3-a.org) must be used for a
Type3349 Valve with threaded ends accord-
ing to DIN11851/DIN11887.
1. Close the shut-off valves in the pipeline
at the inlet and outlet of the plant section
while the valve is being installed.
2. Prepare the relevant section of the pipe-
line for installing the valve.
