9 Decommissioning and
removal
Risk of fatal injury due to the ignition of an
explosive atmosphere.
Incorrect installation, operation or
maintenance of the i/p converter in
potentially explosive atmospheres may lead
to ignition of the atmosphere and cause
death.
Î The following regulations apply to instal-
lation in hazardous areas: EN60079-14
(VDE0165, Part1).
Î Installation, operation or maintenance of
the i/p converter must only performed by
personnel who has undergone special
training or instructions or who is
authorized to work on explosion-
protected devices in hazardous areas.
9.1 Removing the i/p con-
verters
1. Disconnect the supply voltage and supply
pressure.
2. Remove the pneumatic and electrical
connections.
3. Remove the i/p converter from the wall,
pipe or control valve (depending on how
it is mounted).
9.2 Disposal
Î Observe local, national and internation-
al refuse regulations.
