INSTALLATION OF PIERCING SET SCREWS
(See illustrations on reverse side of tag)
1. Be sure that cutting tip of piercing set screw does not protrude through
the coupling body before installing operating pipe.
2. Install operating pipe section in coupling and finger tighten clamp bolt.
See Figure 1.
3. Adjust operating pipe. Then tighten clamp bolt.
4. Tighten piercing set screw, piercing the pipe, and continue turning until
firm resistance is felt. See Figure 2.
5. Make sure clamp bolt is tight.
Failure to properly install piercing set screws can cause slippage of
operating pipe, causing improper operation of switch, arcing, damage,
or electrical shock
