Fault Possible cause Remedy
Then engine does not start Incorrect start-up procedure Follow the instructions for starting
The engine starts up but does not
have full power.
Contaminated air lter (32) Clean the air lter (32)
The engine runs erratically Wrong spark plug electrode gap Clean spark plug and adjust electrode
gap or t new spark plug
Sooty or damp spark plug Incorrect carburettor setting Have the carburettor adjusted and,
if necessary, clean the spark plug or
replace it with a new one
