To stop the engine in an emergency, activate the
chain brake and set the ON / OFF switch to „Stop“.
9. Cleaning
m WARNING
Disconnect the spark plug boot before doing any
cleaning and maintenance work. (Fig. 19)
Cleaning
Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor-
housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible.
Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it
with compressed air at low pressure. ATTENTION!
Wear safety glasses!
We recommend that you clean the device immedi-
ately each time you have nished using it.
Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth
and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents
or solvents; these could attack the plastic parts
of the equipment. Ensure that no water can seep
into the device.
10. Maintenance, Servicing
Air lter (Fig.16-18)
Clean the air lter (H) after each use.
Unscrew the air lter mounting nut (Fig.18/Pos.6)
and remove the cover. (see Fig.16)
Remove the air lter (H).
Open the air lter with a screwdriver.
Clean the air lter. Wash the lter in clean, warm,
soapy water. Let the air dry completely.
Insert the air lter. Put on the cover of the engine /
airlter. Make sure the cover is installed correctly
(S-V). Tighten the screw that secures the cover.
(see Fig.16)
m NOTE
It is advisable to keep a stock of spare lters.
Oil supply opening (Fig.20)
Check the oil supply opening (K) after each use.
Dissemble the bar.
Check the oil outlet (K) for obstructions.
Guide bar (Fig.23-24)
Clean the bar after each use.
Remove the bar from the machine.
Remove sawdust from the bar and the oil channel
(Fig.23/Pos.1).
Lubricate the teeth (Fig.24/Pos.2/3) through the
oiling hole with an oil syringe.
Cylinder ns (Fig.20)
Clean the cylinder ns (M) after each use. To do
this, use compressed air at low pressure or use a
brush. ATTENTION! Wear safety glasses!
Dust and dirt between thens on the cylinder may
cause the machine to overheat.
Other maintenance points before each use
Check for leakage from oil or fuel tanks.
Check the unit for loose parts and screws. Specif-
ically, the chain, the bar and the hand grips.
If you nd defects on the machine, x them im-
mediately.
Oil-/Fuel lter (Fig.21)
m CAUTION!: Never operate the saw without the
Oil-/fuel lter (L1/L2). After every 100 hours of op-
eration the Oil-/fuel lter needs to be cleaned or re-
placed when damaged. Drain the Oil-/fuel tank com-
pletely before replacing the Oil-/lter.
Remove the Oil-/fuel tank cap (12/14).
Make a handle from soft wire.
Insert it into the opening of the Oil-/fuel tank and
hook the Oil-/fuel hose. Pull the Oil-/fuel hose
carefully to the opening until you can grab it with
your ngers.
m NOTE
Pull the hose so it is not quite out of the tank.
Lift the Oil-/fuel lter (L1/L2) from the tank.
Remove the Oil-/fuel lter with a twisting motion
and clean it. If it is damaged, discard the Oil-/fu-
el lter.
Insert the cleaned Oil-/fuellter or a new one. Plug
one end of the Oil-/fuel lter into the tank opening.
Make sure the Oil-/fuel lter is seated in the lower
tank cap. Move the Oil-/fuel lter with a long screw-
driver to put it in its proper slot.
Fill the Oil-/fuel tank with fresh saw chain oil or fu-
el mixture. Put the Oil-/fuel tank cap on the tank.
Spark plug (Fig.17-19,22)
m NOTE!: In order for the saw motor to remain pow-
erful, the spark plug (G) must be clean and properly
gapped (0.6-0.7 mm). Spark plugs should be cleaned
or replaced every 20 hours.
Set the power switch (11) to „Stop“.
Remove the air lter cover (5) by removing the air
lter mounting nut (6). The cover can then be re-
moved.
Disconnect the spark plug from the ignition wire
by gently pulling it and turning the spark plug (G).
Remove the spark plug with a spark plug wrench
(20). Do not use other tools.
