Excessive vibration when turning thin workpieces on your Scheppach Lathe can often be resolved by ensuring the cutting tool is at the workpiece centreline. Raise the cutting tool to align with the centreline. Also, reduce the working pressure if you are cutting too strongly.
What causes excessive vibration when turning large workpieces on my Scheppach DM1100T?
When turning large workpieces or bowls, excessive vibration on your Scheppach Lathe may occur if the headstock and/or tailstock are incorrectly positioned at the ends of the workpiece. Check that the workpiece tips on the headstock and/or tailstock are correctly aligned. Another cause might be an unbalanced workpiece. To fix this, cut the end of the part until the workpiece is balanced.
