OPTICAL VEND
This sub-menu provides the operator with opons for designang product items or rows that are
monitored for product delivery by an opcal sensor. Default is ALL selecons ON unless changed.
Selecons that are designated as Opcal have an associated vend operaon that diers from the normal
vend operaon. For 5 milliseconds at the start of a vend, the Vigilant vend sensor is checked for blockage.
If blocked – the normal vend cycle is used and the opcal sensors are ignored. Both the vend motor and a
10-second meout mer are started.
The motor rotates to the home-switch posion.
If there is a home-switch signal, the vend is considered successful.
If there is no home-switch signal aer 10 seconds, the vend motor is shut down and MAKE
ANOTHER SELECTION is shown on the display.
The customer can then make another selecon or press coin return. NOTE: Forced Vend is
overridden if Opcal Vend is set.
If not blocked, the Vigilant vend sensor system is used. Both the vend motor and a 10-second meout mer
are started.
The selecon motor rotates to the home-switch posion.
If a product is detected, the vend is considered successful.
If, aer reaching the home-switch posion, a product has not been detected, the vend
motor will pause for 1 second while the VMC connues to monitor the opcal sensor for product
delivery.
If a product is detected during this pause, the vend is considered successful.
If a product is not detected, the controller iniates a second vend cycle and a 9-second mer
while connuing to monitor the opcal sensor.
If a product is detected during this second cycle, the motor is stopped
immediately. The vend is considered successful. The 2nd Vend Count is increased by one.
If a product is not detected before the motor reaches the home-
switch posion, or if a 9-second mer runs out, the vend has failed or the selecon is sold
out. Such a state will show MAKE ANOTHER SELECTION on the display and the amount of
credit. The customer can make a selecon or press coin return.
