OPTICAL VEND
This sub-menu provides the operator with opons for designang product items or rows that are
monitored for product delivery by an opcal sensor. Default is ALL selecons ON unless changed.
Selecons that are designated as Opcal have an associated vend operaon that diers from the normal
vend operaon. For 5 milliseconds at the start of a vend, the Vigilant vend sensor is checked for blockage.
If blocked – the normal vend cycle is used and the opcal sensors are ignored. Both the vend motor and a
10-second meout mer are started.
• The motor rotates to the home-switch posion.
• If there is a home-switch signal, the vend is considered successful.
• If there is no home-switch signal aer 10 seconds, the vend motor is shut down and MAKE
ANOTHER SELECTION is shown on the display.
• The customer can then make another selecon or press coin return. NOTE: Forced Vend is
overridden if Opcal Vend is set.
If not blocked, the Vigilant vend sensor system is used. Both the vend motor and a 10-second meout mer
are started.
• The selecon motor rotates to the home-switch posion.
• If a product is detected, the vend is considered successful.
• If, aer reaching the home-switch posion, a product has not been detected, the vend
motor will pause for 1 second while the VMC connues to monitor the opcal sensor for product
delivery.
• If a product is detected during this pause, the vend is considered successful.
• If a product is not detected, the controller iniates a second vend cycle and a 9-second mer
while connuing to monitor the opcal sensor.
• If a product is detected during this second cycle, the motor is stopped
immediately. The vend is considered successful. The 2nd Vend Count is increased by one.
• If a product is not detected before the motor reaches the home-
switch posion, or if a 9-second mer runs out, the vend has failed or the selecon is sold
out. Such a state will show MAKE ANOTHER SELECTION on the display and the amount of
credit. The customer can make a selecon or press coin return.
