6 Clean the transfer charger wire and reinstall the transfer/separa-
tion charger unit into the machine. (Do not install the main charger
yet.)
7 Connect the electrode sheet to the digital multimeter (or an am-
meter). Turn the door switch ON by hand.
8 Check the drum current on both the front and rear frame sides.
The difference in current between the front and rear frame sides
must be less than 6.0 µA.
a. Turn the main switch ON and execute SIM 8-06. (THVG turns
on and stays on for about 30 seconds.)
b. Measure the drum current on the front and rear frame sides.
• When the microswitch is OFF: the drum current on the front
frame side is displayed.
• When the microswitch is ON: the drum current on the rear
frame side is displayed.
c. Check that the difference in current between the front and rear
frames is less than 6.0 µA. If the difference is more than 6.0
µA, it indicates the charger unit is defective. Replace the
charger unit.
9 Adjust the THVG output current.
a. Turn the main switch ON and execute SIM 8-06. (THVF turns
on and stays on about 30 seconds.)
b. Adjust the THVG output current for +13.5 ±3 µA with the THVG
output adjustment VR201.
(Note)
Make sure the black clip is completely grounded to the chassis of the
machine.
When UKGE0043CS01 is to be used:
Knob 1: Set to DCmA
Knob 2: Set to 2
Red clip: Connect to c
Blue clip: Connect to d
When a DC ammeter is to be used:
Red clip: Connect to the c of the DC ammeter.
Blue clip: Connect to the d of the DC ammeter.
C. Adjusting main charger grid voltage
This adjustment should be performed with the OPC drum installed.
The electrode sheet is not used.
1 Install the DV unit and drum holder unit on the copier. Turn the
copier ON. (The electrode sheet should not be used on the drum.)
2 Install the main charger unit on the copier. All charger units should
be installed on the copier.
3 Turn the main switch ON. Execute SIM 8-2 to check the grid
voltage setting.
Note: The value of the simulation 8-2 entered and actual output
voltage do not matched with each other.
