  If the CD on your Sharp Stereo System is not working, the objective lens of the optical pickup may be dirty. Clean the objective lens and then check if it will play. Another possible cause is a buildup of dust or foreign matter on the laser pickup lens. Ensure the lens is clean, and if not, gently clean it using a lens cleaning tissue and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol.
