Restoring factory default settings
1 From the home screen, touch Settings > Device > Restore Factory Defaults.
2 To uc h Restore Settings > select the settings that you want to restore > RESTORE.
3 Start the operation.
Statement of Volatility
Type of memory Description
Volatile memory The printer uses standard random access memory (RAM)
to buer temporarily user data during simple print jobs.
Nonvolatile memory The printer may use two forms of nonvolatile memory:
EEPROM and NAND (flash memory). Both types store the
operating system, printer settings, and network
information. They also store bookmark settings and
embedded solutions.
Intelligent storage drive (ISD) Some printers may have an ISD installed. ISD uses
nonvolatile flash memory to store user data from complex
print jobs, form data, and font data.
Erase the content of any installed printer memory in the following circumstances:
The printer is decommissioned.
The ISD is replaced.
The printer is moved to a dierent department or location.
The printer is serviced by someone from outside your organization.
The printer is removed from your premises for service.
The printer is sold to another organization.
Note: To dispose of a storage drive, follow the policies and procedures of your organization.
