Warning
● If the engine does not work satisfactorily, be sure to stop the engine and diagnose referring to the list
below.
1. Engine
Condition Inspection item Remedy
Working safety switch Press the brake pedal and turn the key switch to
the [Start] position.
Battery electrolyte solution level at the specified
line. Discharge.
Replenish the electrolyte to the specified line
and charge fully.
Loosened battery terminal or corrosion. Clean and tighten the terminal securely. Coat
with grease for rust prevention.
Melted fuse. Replace the fuse with new one.
Failed switch Ask the service works to repair or replace.
Starter does not rotate
when the key switch is
turned.
Failed self starter motor Ask the service works to repair or replace.
Fuel in the fuel tank Supply light oil.
Air mixed in the fuel Check the fuel pipe from he fuel tank to injection
pump.
Fuel cock at the [C] position Move the fuel cock to [ON] position.
Starter rotates but the
engine does not start.
Key stop solenoid harness out of position Connect the harness securely.
Air mixed in the fuel Check the fuel pump from the fuel tank to
injection pump.
Failed injection pump Repair or replace.
Water mixed in the fuel Drain water and change with new light oil.
Clogged injection nozzle Repair or replace.
Engine rotates irregularly.
Clogged fuel filter Wash or replace.
Insufficient cooling water Replenish the cooling water.
Loosened or failed fan belt Adjust the tension or replace the belt.
Clogged radiator fin Clean.
Insufficient engine oil Replenish the oil.
Engine overheated
Running at overload Reduce the load.
Clogged air cleaner Check the air cleaner
Seized nozzle
Insufficient compression power
Valve clearance adjustment
Insufficient power of
engine
Injection timing
Have the service work repair.
