6.3 Cloning Parameter Values
Preparation
WARNING
Only use an adapter cable that is suitable for the encoder (see “Accessories”).
The programming tool must only be used with the designated adapter cables. Other
adapter cables are not permitted.
Otherwise, this could result in damage to the programming tool and/or the encoder.
•
Connect an encoder of the type to be programmed to the PGT-10-Pro (see “Con‐
necting to the Encoder”).
•
Apply the desired settings to the parameter values.
•
Select the Quick Clone of Encoder Settings function.
•
Save the parameter values set in the PGT-10-Pro using the Read from Encoder
and Save to Memory function.
•
The saved parameter values can be checked using the Read Clone Settings
function.
Programming Encoders
•
Connect an additional encoder to be programmed of the same type to the PGT-10-
Pro (see “Connecting to the Encoder”).
•
Program the connected encoder using the Read from Memory and Save to
Encoder function. The parameter set saved in the PGT-10-Pro is transferred to
the encoder.
•
The parameter values programmed in the encoder can be checked using the Read
Enocder Settings function.
•
Disconnect the encoder from the adapter cable.
The encoder is fully programmed and ready to use.
Programming Additional Encoders
Repeat the steps under “Programming Encoders” for all desired encoders of the same
type.
NOTE
The parameter set saved in the PGT-10-Pro remains unchanged until the Read from
Encoder and Save to Memory function is executed again with changed parameter
values.
