6.4 Multiprogramming Different Encoder Types Using the PGT Memory
NOTE
To prepare the parameter sets, the PGT-10-Pro must always be connected to a suitable
encoder.
Preparation
WARNING
Only use an adapter cable that is suitable for the encoder (see “Accessories”).
The programming tool must only be used with the designated adapter cables. Other
adapter cables are not permitted. Otherwise, this could result in damage to the pro‐
gramming tool and/or the encoder.
•
Connect an encoder of the type to be programmed to the PGT-10-Pro (see “Con‐
necting to the Encoder”).
•
Apply all the desired settings for the parameter values.
•
Save the previously set parameter values in the PGT-10-Pro using the Save Config‐
uration to Memory function.
•
The saved parameter values can be checked using the Read Configurations from
Memory function.
Programming Encoders
•
Connect an additional encoder to be programmed to the PGT-10-Pro (see “Con‐
necting to the Encoder”).
•
Load the parameters for the encoder type to be programmed to the memory using
the Read Configurations from Memory function.
•
Program the connected encoder using the Show/Program Configuration File from
Memory function. The saved parameter set is transferred to the encoder.
•
The parameter values programmed in the encoder can be checked using the Read
Encoder Settings function.
•
Disconnect the encoder from the adapter cable.
The encoder is fully programmed and ready to use.
Programming Additional Encoders
Repeat the steps under “Programming Encoders” for all other encoders.
