5.2.2 Connecting pipes and fittings
WARNING
Adhesive contains readily flammable solvent
Risk of fire in case of contact with an open flame or hot surfaces
● Smoke, flames, and naked lights are prohibited when processing the
adhesive.
Apply the adhesive with a clean brush. Never use the same brush to process
different adhesives.
w The pipes have been shortened to the required length.
w The necessary fittings, e.g., pipe connections, T-pieces, and bends, are
available.
w Suitable adhesive is available.
w A dry room is available for connecting the pipes and fittings.
1. Press the pipe into the fitting as far as it will go.
2. Draw a line on the pipe along the fitting flange to mark the pressed-in part of
the pipe.
3. Pull the pipe out of the fitting.
4. WARNING!Risk to health when handling adhesive. Observe the
processing instructions and the safety data sheet for the adhesive.
Ventilate the room well.
Apply the adhesive evenly across the whole of the area you marked on the
pipe end.
5. Push the pipe into the fitting.
6. Press the pipe and the fitting together for at least 30s.
7. Use a cloth that is free of grease to remove any adhesive residue from the
pipe.
8. Repeat steps 1 through 7 for every fitting.
9. Allow the adhesive to cure.

5.2.3 Mounting end caps
An end cap must be glued to every open end of the pipe system.
Every end cap must have an aspirating hole. Exception: End caps on upright stand
pipes do not have any aspirating holes. The aspirating holes in the end caps are
usually larger than the aspirating holes in the pipes.
An initial airflow is generated in the pipe system through the end cap.
