3.16 Diagnostics
3.16.1 Fault Trace Configuration
For the various services and applications available on the OpenStage phone, error tracing and
logging can be activated. The resulting files can be downloaded via the WBM.
The File size (bytes) parameter sets the maximum file size. When the maximum size is
reached, the file is deleted, and a new trace file is generated. The trace data is then written to
the new file.
The Trace timeout determines when to stop tracing, i. e. writing to the trace file.
If Automatic clear before start is checked, the existing trace file will be deleted on pressing
the Submit button, and a new, empty trace file will be generated.
The log files can be downloaded by clicking on the following hyperlinks:
• Download trace file
This file contains the trace data according to the settings specified for the services.
• Download boot file
The boot file contains the system messages of the booting process.
• Download old trace file
The previous trace file.
• Download old boot file
The previous boot file.
By pressing Submit, the trace settings are submitted to the phone. With Reset, the recent
changes can be canceled.
The following trace levels can be selected:
• OFF: Only errors messages are stored.
• DEBUG: All messages are stored.
Brief Descriptions of the Components
• Administration
This deals with the changing and setting of parameters within the phone database, from
both the User and Admin menus.
• Application Menu
This is where applications to be run on the phone can be started and stopped.
•Call log
This deals with the Call log application which displays the call history of the phone.
