2.1 Read the Safety Manual First
The Maxum II Explosion Protection Safety Standards Manual (https://
support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/42017542/) in multiple languages is shipped on a
CD with each new analyzer. Read and become familiar with this manual before attempting to
install the analyzer.
2.2 Analyzer Environment
To protect the Maxum II from the elements, it should be located in an analyzer house or a similar
protected enclosure; see Figure 1-1. The air temperature around the analyzer should be
maintained between 0°F (-18°C) and 122°F (50°C). An installation drawing package will be
sent out early in the project to document the application specific information for each Maxum II
needed for site preparation. Final documentation will be shipped with the unit.
