Removing the USB key while the logging is enabled (without using the Safely
Remove command) may cause the unit to restart or block (a manual restart is
then needed).
Always use the Safely Remove command before removing the USB memory
device!
Note: If you use the SD card as default log storage, removing a USB mass
storage device temporarily set as the active log storage does not automatically
set again the SD card as the active log storage. In such a case, you must
manually set the SD card as the active log storage.
Configuring the logging function on the fly
To configure the log files on the fly, do the following:
You need to be logged in as ‘admin’ (see Launching NW8204 from DMS host
[➙ 63] about different user types).
1. Click the Protocol Info button.
2. In the NK Protocols window, select the protocol about which you want to
configure the logging function.
3. Select the check boxes you are interested in:
– The Logger Category section shows the available information categories.
– The Logger Mask section shows the information types that will be written in
the log files for each information category.
4. Click the Apply button.
The logging function configuration is modified on the fly.
