Hookstick disconnect switches (types SE, SEL, SER, LER, E, EF, B-1, B-2, EH, EHL, and EHTT) Instruction Manual
6
• As the blade opens, the blade end casting should make metal-to-metal contact
with the interrupter’s lever before the blade leaves the silver contacts located
on the jaw assembly.
• As the blade continues to rotate open, the interrupter will trip (fire) thus
interrupting the load. The interrupter must trip (fire) while the lever arm is in
metal-to-metal contact with the blade end. The interrupter should trip (fire)
before the blade end gets within ½” to ¾” of the end of the lever.
• Continue to open switch until the interrupter lever has cleared the end of the
nylon push bar. Once the lever has cleared the push bar, the lever will spring
back slightly. This allows the nylon bumper to engage the lever and push the
lever into the cocked (set to trip) position when the switch is being closed.
Open the switch fully.
