First environment - commercial use
Power Modules with additional line filter
● fulfill the requirements relating to cable-conducted noise interference emission
(interference), if
– a shielded cable with low capacitance is used,
– the current does not exceed the rated input current (see Specific technical data
(Page 70)),
– the pulse frequency does not exceed 4 kHz, and
– the cable is not longer than 100 m.
● can cause high-frequency disturbances. In this case, damping measures may be required
in order that the requirements relating to radiated noise interference can be fulfilled.
Note
Devices for use in Category C2
– first environment, commercial use – must be installed by a
specialist with the appropriate experience fo
r installing and/or commissioning power drive
systems, including their EMC aspects.
Second environment
Power Modules with additional line filter
● fulfill the requirements relating to cable-conducted noise interference emission
(interference), if
– a shielded cable with low capacitance is used
– the current does not exceed the rated input current (see Specific technical data
(Page 70)),
– the pulse frequency does not exceed 4 kHz, and
– the cable is not longer than 100 m.
● can cause high-frequency disturbances. In this case, damping measures may be required
in order that the requirements relating to radiated noise interference can be fulfilled.
Second (industrial) environment
● Power Modules can be installed without any restrictions in Category C3 – second
environment – and do not require any authorization for connection.
The Power Modules have been tested in accordance with the immunity requirements of
category C3 - Second Environment - and fulfill the requirements according to EN 61800-3.
Note
The immunity requirements apply equally to both filtered and unfiltered Power Modules.
