Why won't my Simer 3105P motor run?
    • D
      David HouseAug 18, 2025
Your Simer Water Pump motor might not be running because the disconnect switch is off. Ensure the switch is turned on. Another possible reason is a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker, in which case you should replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. A defective starting switch, loose or disconnected wires, or dirty pressure switch contacts could also be the cause. To address these, disconnect the power before replacing the starting switch, checking and tightening the wiring, or filing the pressure switch contacts with an emery board or nail file.

Why does my Simer 3105P Water Pump motor run hot and the overload kicks off?
    • J
      Julie TaylorAug 23, 2025
If your Simer Water Pump motor runs hot and the overload kicks off, it could be due to incorrect wiring. Refer to the wiring instructions to ensure it's properly connected. Low voltage can also cause this issue, so check with your power company. Additionally, too frequent cycling of the pump may be the cause; consult the section on too frequent cycling for solutions.

Why doesn't my Simer Water Pump deliver water to full capacity?
    • S
      Shelley AustinAug 28, 2025
If your Simer Water Pump isn't delivering water to its full capacity, the water level in the well may be lower than estimated; a deep well jet will be needed if your well's depth to water is more than 25 feet. If you're using steel piping, it may be corroded or limed, causing excess friction; replace it with plastic pipe where possible, or with new steel pipe. The piping may also be too small, so use larger piping. Finally, the well point may be packed; backflush the well point or sink a new one.

Why is my Simer 3105P Water Pump causing air spurts from the faucets?
    • A
      Aaron WattsAug 31, 2025
Air spurts from the faucets connected to your Simer Water Pump can occur if the pump is picking up prime; when the pump has picked up prime, it should pump solid water with no air. Another cause could be a leak in the suction side of the pump; check joints for leaks with soapy water. If the well is gaseous, consult the factory about installing a sleeve in the well. Intermittent over-pumping of the well, where water is drawn down below the foot valve, can also cause this; lower the foot valve if possible, otherwise restrict pump discharge.

How to troubleshoot a Simer Water Pump when the motor will not run?
    • A
      Andrew GomezSep 2, 2025
If the Simer Water Pump motor won't run, first ensure the disconnect switch is on. If it still doesn't work, check the fuse or circuit breaker and replace or reset if necessary. Other potential causes include a defective starting switch (replace it, after disconnecting the power and referring to the wiring instructions), loose or incorrectly wired wires at the motor (disconnect power and check/tighten), or dirty pressure switch contacts (disconnect power and file with an emery board or nail file).

What to do if Simer Water Pump motor runs hot and overload kicks off?
    • M
      Margaret HallSep 7, 2025
If the Simer Water Pump motor runs hot and the overload kicks off, it could be due to incorrect wiring (refer to wiring instructions). Low voltage can also cause this, so check with your power company. Another cause may be that the pump cycles too frequently, in that case, install heavier wiring if the wire size is too small (see the Electrical / Wiring Chart).

Why is my Simer Water Pump running but not pumping water?
    • K
      Kathy TravisSep 9, 2025
If the Simer Water Pump motor runs but no water is delivered, and it's a new installation, re-prime the pump according to the instructions, checking for air leaks and leaking foot or check valves. If the pump has lost prime in an existing installation, check all connections on the suction line and shaft seal. Other possible causes include a plugged foot valve or strainer (clean it), a plugged ejector or impeller (clean it), a stuck check valve or foot valve (replace it), frozen pipes (thaw them), a foot valve and/or strainer buried in sand or mud (raise them), or a water level too low for a shallow well setup (a deep well jet package may be needed if it's over 25 ft. to water).

What causes a Simer Water Pump to not deliver water to full capacity?
    • J
      Jared DavisSep 12, 2025
If your Simer Water Pump doesn't deliver water to full capacity, the water level in the well might be lower than estimated (a deep well jet will be needed if your well is more than 25’ (7.6M) depth to water). Also, check for corroded or limed steel piping (replace with plastic pipe where possible, otherwise with new steel pipe), piping that is too small in size (use larger piping), or a packed well point (backflush or sink a new one).

Why am I getting air spurts from my Simer Water Pump faucets?
    • M
      Maurice BlairSep 15, 2025
If you're getting air spurts from the faucets with your Simer Water Pump, it might be picking up prime (when the pump has picked up prime, it should pump solid water with no air). It could also be a leak in the suction side of the pump (check joints for leaks with soapy water), a gaseous well (consult factory about installing a sleeve in the well), or intermittent over-pumping of the well (lower foot valve if possible, otherwise restrict pump discharge).

What to do if my Simer Water Pump delivers water but doesn't shut off or cycles too frequently?
    • T
      Thomas JohnsonNov 19, 2025
If your Simer Water Pump is delivering water but doesn't shut off or cycles too frequently, several factors could be responsible. The pressure switch may be out of adjustment or its contacts might be welded together; in this case, disconnect the power and adjust or replace the pressure switch. Also, check if any faucets have been left open and close them. A clogged venturi, nozzle, or impeller can also cause this issue, so clean these components. Other potential causes include a waterlogged standard pressure tank with no air cushion (drain the tank to the air volume control port), leaking pipes (check all connections for air leaks), leaking foot valves (replace the foot valve), or an air charge that is too low in the pre-charged tank (check the air pressure at the valve stem using a tire p...
