the left, the current polarity is opposite to that which
was anticipated. Turn off the power and reverse leads.
Read the current directly on the black D.C. arc. Use
the 0—50 figures. The current value is shown in micro-
amperes.
Turn off the circuit power. Remove the test leads and
restore the circuit continuity.

50 MICROAMPERES TO 500 MILLIAMPERES
Set the function switch at +D.C.
Connect the black test lead in the COMMON - jack and
the red test lead in the + jack.
Set the range switch in any of the four range positions
required. These are marked 1 MA., 10 MA., 100 MA.,
and 500 MA.
Open the circuit which is to be measured. Connect the
meter in series with the circuit. Connect the red test
lead toward the positive side and the black test lead
toward the negative side of the circuit.
Turn on the power in the circuit which is to be mea—
sured. Observe the meter. If the pointer is deflected to
the left, the current polarity is opposite to that which
was anticipated. Turn off the power, set the function
switch at D. C., and then turn on the power again.
Read the current directly on the black D.C. arc.
For the 1 MA. range use the 0— 10 figures and divide
by 10.
For the 10 MA. range use the 0 – 10 figures directly.
