START YOUR WASHING MACHINE AS FOLLOWS
1. Turn on the taps and turn
power on at the power point
2. Close the lid
3. Press the POWER button
(only model SWT954) at the
back of control panel above
the rating label.
Model: SWT954
The machine will ‘beep’ twice and show a pattern of lights. Wait for this
to happen before attempting to operate the machine.
Your washing machine is now in pause mode and ready to wash your clothes.
If the settings shown on the control panel are what you want to use and
the PROGRAM SELECTOR is set to the correct wash program for your clothes
load, press the START/PAUSE button to start your wash.
To select a di
fferent program or change other settings, read the following
instructions in this section and in Section C.
CHOOSE THE WASH PROGRAM
Turn the PROGRAM SELECTOR knob to choose the wash program you want.
The table “YOUR PROGRAM GUIDE” shown on page 10 will help you in
selecting the right program.
The Program Selector knob is not a timer.
Once you select a wash program, the Program Selector knob will stay
at that position for the whole wash cycle.
You can turn the Program Selector Knob to a new program positio
n at any time.
If you do move the Program Selector Knob the effect will be different depending on the status of the machine
at the time you do this, as follows:
1. When the machine is in pause mode, moving the Knob to a new position will result in the machine resetting
to the start of the new program.
(For pause mode, see “Machine in pause mode” page 12)
2. When the machine is running, moving the Knob to a new position will result in the machine continuing the
wash and it will show on the display with 3 consecutive short beeps to remind you that this option is
not allowed.
(For machine running, see
“Wash cycle in progress” page 12)
NOTE:
When you select the DRAIN & SPIN program, there will be a delay of at least 2 minute before
the washing machine starts to spin. This delay is a pump out (DRAIN) period to ensure the bowl is empty
of water, which is necessary before spin commences. Even though you may have only put wet clothes into
an empty bowl, the delay before spin will still occur to be safe and to protect your washing machine.
When you choose the WOOLLENS and BEDDING program, the DEEP RINSE option is automatically
selected for you. You will not be able to select and use Eco Rinse and Fast Rinse with these two
programs.
