Safety 2524 JET FLAP | Safety
2 JET FLAP
Each of our gliders is equipped with skywalk’s patented JET FLAP technology. Air is con-
ducted from the bottom of the wing (pressure area) to the top of the wing (vacuum area)
and is blown out there with a higher speed. The connection is established through jet
shaped channels located toward the back of the wing. The addition air mass on the top
of the wing delays the flow separation. The stall occurs later, the minimum flyable speed
is lower, and the pilot has more reserve in the angle of attack. This is especially important
in phases such as takeoff and landing. The JET FLAPS also help to improve climb perfor-
mance since they allow you to circle very slowly in thermals with little danger. The glider can
be flown normally as the JET FLAPS don’t require any special control technique.
3 SAFETY
Although paragliding is considered to be relatively safe, our sport also carries certain risks.
Paragliders are not designed for turbulent weather conditions. Most accidents involving
paragliders are caused by a pilot‘s misjudgment of the weather. The paragliders them-
selves are designed for relatively high loads, and during type certification, all components
of the paraglider are tested to withstand at least eight times the load of the maximum
suspension weight.
During production, the glider underwent carefully selected quality controls and was
inspected once again before shipping. Keep in mind that a paraglider can only be flown
while observing the laws of the country in which it is flown.
AFETY WARNING
FLYING A PARAGLIDER REQUIRES MAXIMUM CAUTION AT ALL TIMES.
WE REMIND YOU THAT YOU FLY YOUR PARAGLIDER AT YOUR OWN RISK!
AS THE PILOT IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THE AIRWORTHINESS
OF YOUR GLIDER BEFORE EVERY FLIGHT. REMEMBER THAT MENTAL FITNESS
IS ALSO A RISK FACTOR. SKYWALK GMBH & CO. KG CAN NOT BE MADE
LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO PEOPLE OR MATERIAL!
OPERATING LIMITATIONS
The paraglider may only be flown within the operating limits. These limits are considered
to be exceeded if any of the following occurs:
> Flying outside the minimum and maximum certified take-off weight
> Fly with a motor (except glider with motor certification)
> Flying in the rain, during snowfall, in extremely turbulent weather conditions
or strong wind
> Flying in clouds or fog (visual flight)
> Flying with insufficient experience of the pilot
> Flying in multi-seat use (except tandem paragliders)
> Flying while the paraglider is wet
> Flying at temperatures below -30 ° C and above 50 ° C
> Acrobatic flight (flying figures with inclination of more than 135 degrees)
LIABILITY AND WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
If any of the following applies, the paraglider may not be flown under warranty and
liability conditions:
> any changes to the paraglider that are not within tolerances
> in case of improper repairs
> at the expiry of the recommended inspection period
> if the inspection is performed by unauthorized persons
> while flying without a valid pilot license
> at winch launches using unapproved winches
> in the case of insufficient license of the pilot or winch operator during winch launches
SAFETY NOTICES
If a piece of equipment becomes defective while in service, possibly affecting other, sim-
ilar equipment, safety notices will be issued. These notices will be published on the sky-
walk website and on the website of the respective type certification authority. Safety no-
tices provide instructions on how to check the equipment for possible defects and what
action is needed to remedy the defect.
THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MEASURES FROM THE SAFETY NOTICES IS
THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNER OF THE EQUIPMENT!
