[CE-compliant products]
qEMC compliance was tested by combining the electric actuator LEF series and the controller
LEC series.
The EMC depends on the configuration of the customer’s control panel and the relationship with
other electrical equipment and wiring. Therefore conformity to the EMC directive cannot be
certified for SMC components incorporated into the customer’s equipment under actual
operating conditions. As a result it is necessary for the customer to verify conformity to the EMC
directive for the machinery and equipment as a whole.
wFor the servo motor (24 VDC) specification, EMC compliance was tested by installing a noise
filter set (LEC-NFA).
Refer to the WEB catalog for the noise filter set. Refer to the LECA Operation Manual for
installation.
[UL-compliant products]
When conformity to UL is required, the electric actuator and controller/driver should be used with a
UL1310 Class 2 power supply.
Series compatible with
secondary batteries
The actuator and controller/driver are sold as a package.
Confirm that the combination of the controller/driver and the actuator is correct.
<Check the following before use.>
q
Check the actuator label for model number (after "25A-"). This matches the controller/driver.
w Check Parallel I/O configuration matches (NPN or PNP).
* Refer to the operation manual for using the products. Please download it via our website, http://www.smcworld.com

Why does my SMC Networks Controller show 'Phase Det ALM /code: 1-193' at the initial stage?
    • O
      ocollinsAug 21, 2025
If the SMC Networks Controller generates an alarm for 'Phase Det ALM /code: 1-193' when power is supplied, it could be due to several reasons. First, the cable might not be properly installed or has been disconnected; check the cable installation. Second, the load or resistance being applied to the actuator might constantly exceed the actuator's specification; keep the load and resistance within the specified range and check the actuator mounting condition. Third, the controller and actuator combination might not be correct; the controller and actuator combination at the time of shipment should not be changed. Fourth, excessive external force is being applied, including vibration or impact load; operate within the specified range.

How to fix SMC Networks Controller 'Stroke limit/code: 1-052' alarm?
    • E
      ecarrollSep 1, 2025
If the SMC Networks Controller generates an alarm for 'Stroke limit/code: 1-052' and operation is not completed, it means the moving distance exceeds the 'Stroke(+) / 'Stroke(-). Check the value of the 'Position' of step data and the value of the 'Stroke(+) / 'Stroke(-)' of the basic parameter.

What to do if SMC Networks Controller operation is not completed due to 'Over load' or 'Posn failed' alarm?
    • C
      Corey FlemingNov 10, 2025
If the SMC Networks Controller displays the 'Over load/code: 1-148' or 'Posn failed/code: 1-149' alarm and operation is not completed, it could be due to several reasons. First, excessive external force, vibration, or impact load might be the cause; ensure operation is within the specified range. Second, the power supply may lack sufficient capacity; verify the power consumption and replace the power supply if needed. Third, the load or resistance applied to the actuator might exceed the specified range; use within the specified range and check the actuator's mounting. Fourth, pushing operation might be performed at 'Positioning operation'; review the step data. Fifth, the cable might not be connected correctly; confirm the cable connection. Sixth, the actuator might have pinched the workp...
