Fuel Filter
lMP0RTANT:
Service
the Juel
filter on a C0LD
ENGINE
ONLYI
IMP0RTANT:
To stop
the flow of
fuel,
the fuel
tank
(C,
Figure 30)
may be
removed
from the bracket
and set
on the
floor so
the fuel
level will be below
the filter.
Refer to the
section
entitled
"REMOVING
FUEL TANK".
1. Remove
the
hose clamps
(8,
Figure
30)
from
the f
uel
filter
(A).
2.
Remove
the f
uel
lines
f rom
filter. Discard
the f
ilter.
3.
Install a
new
f
uel
filter.
4. Reinstall
the fuel
tank
into the bracket
(if
removed).
5. Carefully
reinstall the
f
uel
clamps.
6.
Check
the fuel system
for leaks.

ln addition
to regular
maintenance,
the following
components
of
the Rear
Engine
Rider should
be carefully
inspected
every
two
years
for wear or
damage.

Storage

Rear Engine
Rider can be
stored
on
the rear
bumper.
Perform
the
following
proce
dures
to insure
the
Rear
Engine Rider
will
operate
properly
when
taken out of
storage.
1.
Thoroughly
clean
the
Rear Engine
Rider
by removing
all
grass
clippings
and debris.
2.
Perform
maintenance
and
lubrrcation
as
required.
3.
Drain
the
fuel
from the
fuel
tank.
4. Startthe
engine
and
allow
it to
run untilthe
engine
runs
out of
f uel.
This allows
the carburetor
and
fuel system
to remain
clean during
storage.
5.
Remove
the battery.
Refer
to the section
entitled
"BAT-
TERY STORAGE''.
6. Close
the
vent on
the
fuel filler cap.
7. Carefully
stand
the Rear
Engine
Rider on
its
rear bumper
in the desired
location
for storage.

tank

rider,
move
the rider outdoors
where
fumes can
easily
dissipate

left side
of
the machine,
pullthe
fueltank

31) straight
up and
away
from
the fuel
tank
bracket
(B).
2. Holding
the
f uel
tank, remove
the
f uel
f
iller
cap
(C)
and
p0ur
any
remaining
fuel
into an approved
container.
