Why is there a heavy flow from the overflow pipe in my Somat Industrial Equipment?
    • J
      Johnny DawsonAug 5, 2025
The heavy flow from the overflow pipe in your Somat Industrial Equipment can be caused by excessive foaming, which can be resolved by adding a de-foamer. Another cause may be a blockage of the return line, so check individual cleanouts to locate the blockage. Improper return water flow can also cause this issue, so readjust throttling valves.

What to do if there is too much water in the Somat Industrial Equipment pulper?
    • J
      Jessica CarlsonAug 11, 2025
If there is too much water in the Somat Industrial Equipment pulper, it could be due to several reasons. The trough valve might be open too far; in this case, throttle down the valve to decrease water in the pulper and increase water in the extractor. Another cause may be a misadjusted PLC POT setting. The PLC controls the circuit to the solenoid valve, and too high a setting would tend to hold the solenoid valve open too long, letting too much water into the pulper. Also, check for faulty valve operation and repair or replace the solenoid valve if necessary. Finally, the overflow fitting and line might be clogged, so clean the fitting and line.

What to do if the Somat Industrial Equipment pulper operates but the pulping rate is low?

      candicemcclainAug 16, 2025
If the Somat Industrial Equipment pulper operates but the pulping rate is low, consider the following: * Check for plugging of the sizing ring. Check stationary blades and ears. If dull, replace. * If there is excessive foaming, add a de-foamer or any other suitable commercial preparation. * If there is an overload of waste, revise waste feeding rate. * Check for clogged slurry lines by checking individual cleanouts for loss of pressure to locate blockage. Remove blockage.

How to resolve not enough water in Somat Industrial Equipment pulper?
    • K
      Kathleen MoralesAug 22, 2025
If there is not enough water in the Somat Industrial Equipment pulper, first, ensure the trough valve is properly adjusted by opening the valve. Low water pressure could also be the cause. Also, check for faulty operation of the solenoid valve by checking for loose electrical connections. If the valve plunger is stuck or the coil is burned out, replace it with a new valve.

What to do if pulp discharge from Somat Industrial Equipment Hydra- Extractor is excessively wet?
    • S
      Sarah HartAug 29, 2025
If the pulp discharge from the Somat Industrial Equipment Hydra-Extractor is excessively wet, it may be due to a blockage of the screen. Clean the Hydra-Extractor screen. It could also be caused by a worn screw and brush, which would require removal and replacement.
